My little Baby is growing up.

It's Sahara's first birthday tomorrow, and I'm getting a little anxious as to what to do about it. I don't want to be a crazy doggy mommy as I always fear, and go all out with a cake (which I will obviously end up eating it, unless I make it out of mincemeat and meaty bites or something), nor do I want to let the occasion go unmarked.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the Queen of the Under Prepared?

(I did find these doggy candles in case I decided to go through with the cake idea, but they look rather phallic to me).

Ahhh ha ha. Funny candles.

I think a new toy would be just the thing! Kai has a chicken with a squeaker in it. I vowed never to have a dog toy with a squeaker, but it a gift from Mum - curse her. So now when I'm on the phone, people say "What's squeaking?!" and I have to say something equally stupid like, "Uh, I dunno, maybe it's on your end?"

Sahara had a piglet the same, and some sort of hideous roast chicken. This was when I was in a share house - people didn't really appreciate hearing her mauling those squeakers at 7am when they were just getting in from their night out. When we first moved in to our new house, she had a football that was indestructable, and the birds would answer the squeak.
